Offences and Sanctions
Outlining offences and sanctions related to competition law violations, detailing penalties, enforcement actions, and compliance expectations for businesses in Singapore.
You should always lend full cooperation to CCCS. The following are the criminal offences & sanctions provided under the Act:
Offences | Sanction on Conviction |
Section 65(6) – Failure to comply with any condition imposed by CCCS in allowing the retention on the premises of any equipment or article which has a bearing on the investigation. | Punishable with a fine not exceeding S$10,000 or to imprisonment for a term not exceeding 12 months or to both |
Section 75 - Failure to comply with a requirement to provide documents, explanation or information as exercised under the powers of investigation in the Act | |
Section 76 - Intentionally or recklessly destroying/disposing, falsifying or concealing a document that is required to be produced to CCCS or causing its destruction, disposal, falsification or concealment | |
Section 77 - Providing information that is false or misleading either to CCCS or another person (e.g. employee or legal adviser) knowing that it will be submitted to CCCS | |
Section 78 – Obstructing, by refusing to give access to, assaulting, hindering or delaying any CCCS officer or an authorised personnel | |
Section 80 - Wilfully mis-stating or refusing without lawful excuse to give required information or produce any document or refuses to comply with any lawful demand made by an officer of CCCS | Punishable with a fine not exceeding S$5,000 or to imprisonment for a term not exceeding 12 months or to both |
