On 6 April 2017, CCS conducted an outreach to a group of NUS Economics students taking the industrial organisation programme.
CCS’s officers Mr. Terence Seah (Senior Assistant Director, Business and Economics Division) and Mr. Ng Jia Le (Competition Analyst, Business and Economics Division) presented on the overview of the competition regime in Singapore and shared with the students past CCS’ enforcement experiences for the three key prohibitions under the Competition Act.
The second half of the presentation touched on the implications of the rise of E-commerce in Singapore on the very nature of competition in existing markets as well as competition policy. Active participation by the students has facilitated an engaging and fruitful session which enhanced their overall understanding of the competition regime in Singapore.
