CCS' reply to ST Forum Letter on Pricing Fixing by Employment Agencies

For reimbursements... 'Seek legal advice.'
The 16 employment agencies that we fined infringed the Competition Act by collectively fixing the monthly salaries of new Indonesian maids here. Mr Kang Choon Tian's letter ('Price-fixing'; Tuesday) raises the issue of reimbursement for those who were affected by the agencies' anti-competitive conduct.
The Competition Act does not provide for the CCS to claim compensation on behalf of those affected by anti-competitive conduct. Those who seek to claim private compensation are advised to seek legal advice on how to pursue their case.
