17th East Asia Top Level Officials’ Meeting on Competition Policy & 14th East Asia Conference on Competition Law and Policy

Co-organised by the Asian Development Bank Institute, the Philippine Competition Commission, and the Japan Fair Trade Commission, the 17th East Asia Top Level Officials’ Meeting on Competition Policy (EATOP) was held in Manila, Philippines on 28 September 2022. Ms Sia Aik Kor, Chief Executive of the CCCS, presented CCCS’s efforts in preventing bid-rigging in public procurement at the session on Competition and Public Procurement. Ms Sia also moderated the discussion on Competition Policy and East Asian Regional Integration, with speakers from Cambodia, the Philippines and Thailand.

 

The EATOP is a closed-door meeting for senior officials from East Asian competition authorities to discuss and review recent developments on competition policy and law. The annual meeting aims to strengthen cooperation and competition in East Asia.

 

The 14th East Asia Conference on Competition Law and Policy was held on 29 September 2022. The EAC is an open event for government agencies, competition authorities, business leaders and academics to key issues and developments surrounding competition policy and law in the region.
